Village of Granville: 1st Mayoral Proclamation of Paul Labas

Mayoral Proclamation

Paul Labas, mayor of the Village of Granville, issued a Mayoral Proclamation. This is his first proclamation since he assumed the office of Mayor in April 2019. No news story or feature has yet to be noted regarding this proclamation.

The proclamation, in full, has been retyped here for historic posterity. Capitalization forms have been preserved as originally typed.

Official Proclamation of the Mayor

Whereas, Wes & Laura Barlow recently purchased Scarlotta's Car Hop and have been working diligently to remodel, improve and upgrade the facility, and

Whereas, the Barlow Family and Scarlotta's staff are well known to be kind, caring and well-regarded throughout the Village and Town of Granville, and

Whereas, the Car Hop has operated continuously at this location for more than 50 Years, and

Whereas, the annual opening of Scarlotta's Car Hop is seen by locals as a sure sign of Spring and Better Days Ahead, and

Whereas, Payton Elizabeth Barlow, former leading goal-scorer for the Granville Golden Horde Field Hockey will be aiding her parents in the management of the Car Hop, bringing a strong sense of spirit and pride for Granville's Blue and Gold, and

Whereas, the Scarlotta family name has been returned to the business with a sense of pride, and

Whereas, Scarlotta's Car Hop is an Icon of the Granville Community

Now, Therefore, I proclaim that today, the 29th Day of April, shall be officially decreed as

in the Village of Granville. Thank you for your continued support of our community. Come One, Come All ... Wishing you much success, happiness and good memories throughout the summer.

Note

The third "whereas" declaration has an error. Scarlotta's Car Hop originally opened in 1977, not in 1972 or earlier as implied by the "more than 50 Years" referred to in the entry.
